The public
\nevent will convene leaders from government, academia, civil society, and
\ninternational organizations to share best practices, key findings, and explore
\ncollaboration opportunities for sustainable reduction of
\nplastic waste in ASEAN. The event will feature keynote addresses by environmental
\nleaders and presentations from pilot teams representing six ASEAN countries.
\nDiscussions will focus on how Behavioural Insights can drive long-term changes
\nin plastic consumption habits.<\/p>\n

Phase I
\nsuccessfully tested innovative approaches to reduce plastic waste in ASEAN
\ncountries by `nudging` people
\nnot to use single-use plastics. Examples
\ninclude no free plastic bags, no free plastic straws, separate garbage boxes
\nwith display of segregated items, and awareness raising campaigns In Phase II,
\nthe project will further explore how behavioural changes can complement
\nexisting policies, such as bans and taxes. A new measurement framework will
\nalso be introduced to evaluate the effectiveness of ‘the Behavioural Insights
\ninterventions. This phase will produce practical tools and case studies to
\nguide policymakers, businesses, and civil society in implementing behaviour-centred
\nsolutions.<\/p>\n

A
\ncapacity-building workshop on 16-17 October 2024 will prepare selected partner
\norganizations to implement local projects from January to August 2025. The
\nimplementing partners for Phase II include:<\/p>\n
